Cool place, is that rebar sticking out of the ground.

If so, don't go down the hill/mountain side and slip.

Brick lined, impressive. I agree on the rebar. Not a place to camp and stumble around half asleep in the wee hours to take a leak ... :nite22:

Was this a mine or just some kind of haulage tunnel? How far back did you go into it?

Was wondering the same thing, what was the purpose of the tunnel. One cool find for sure.

I did do a little research and if I remember correctly it was supposed to be a mine the target ore was really deep back there and they abandoned the project before they got to the depth they wanted. Still supposed to go far back there. I found it and was going to check it out but it was getting kind of dark and I slipped trying to cross the creek. So I just left pissed off with one leg wet and figured maybe if could of seen better I would of picked a better rock to step on.

Yeah I was up there working for awhile on a home my mother has in Tahoe so I put some work into the area. And as sparse as that county is there are still a good number of places to go check out.
